Welcome to Castle Acre Church of England Primary Academy; we are proud to be in a strong Federation with our two other schools - Sporle C of E Primary Academy and Narborough C of E Primary Academy. Together we make up The Nar Valley Federation of Church Academies.
We are a small friendly school situated in the heart of the village. We usually have between 65 and 70 pupils on roll, with the majority of our children coming from Castle Acre and the surrounding villages.
Our dedicated and experienced teaching staff are committed to providing a stimulating and engaging education for your child. We have a real sense of family and undertake many special days and activities where family groups have opportunities to work and play together. We are proud of the opportunities our children have through coming to our school, and proud of our super Friends of Castle Acre School who work so hard to provide many of these. We want our children to access a wide range of music, arts, drama, cultural, sporting and outdoor opportunities and so we make sure they do.
Strong Christian values form the foundation for our daily life at school and underpin our creative and exciting curriculum. As a Church of England school we have very strong links with our local church in Sporle alongside the Diocese of Norwich. We believe strongly that it is part of our role to be an active part of our local community, contributing in such ways as marking Remembrance together, sharing Church services, talking to older people in the community centre and coming along to local events.
Being part of The Nar Valley Federation of Church Academies offers our children the opportunity to work alongside our Federation children, in a larger group than our small classes. This is something we believe is essential for small schools, as it means our children get the best out of being in small classes, but also learn to be comfortable working in a larger group and getting to know friends at other schools, ready for their next step to secondary school. It gives our Teachers and Teaching Assistants the opportunity to frequently share good practice and curriculum ideas and also allows us to pool resources to enable us to offer the best education possible for our children.
We are a happy, friendly and family school. Our children are supported by our Trust, Staff, Governors, Parents/Carers, community members and Church to learn and enjoy their school life.
Please contact us for further information or to arrange a visit to our school. We look forward to welcoming you and showing you our wonderful children's learning. We are proud of our children and the way they demonstrate our school values and look forward to sharing this with you - our Head and Deputy Head pupils will show you round with great detail!
Best wishes,
Mrs Anne Neary, Executive Headteacher and Mrs Emma Spaul, Head of School
"I like the size of our school - it's the right number of people. I like it being small because everyone knows each other." Pupil comments about being at Castle Acre
