Spellings: Rule 22: cian or ssion suffixes
Use the powerpoint below to revise when to use the suffixes ‘cian’ or ‘ssion.’ Use examples from the last slide to practice spelling the words accurately, chosing the correct suffix. Don’t do all of them at once- 10 a day is plenty.

Look at the picture in the powerpoint. The sentences are incredibly dull. How can you improve them?
Maths:
Daily 10
Encourage pupils to practise their times tables by clicking on the link below. This will give 10 questions based around recall of the times tables facts.

- At the top of the page, you should see 3 ‘choose’ tabs
- 1st tab: Choose level 4 (year 4) or level 5 (year 5)
- 2nd tab: Multiplication, Choose mixed tables up to x12
- Then you should see a range of question intervals at the bottom of the page…can you try a quicker challenge?
- Upload your score to dojo to let your teacher know how you got on.
You could also try selecting division to practice using your knowledge of times tables to solve related division questions.

Year 4: Count in tenths
Click on the link below to watch the video tutorial about counting in tenths. Use bar models, number lines, base 10 and other visuals to count in tenths beyond 1 whole.

Year 5: Fractions greater than 1
Click on the link below to watch the video tutorial to learn about fractions that are greater than 1. Learn about improper fractions (where the numerator is larger than the denominator) and how to use bar models and part whole models to compare and order improper fractions.

English: Non-chronological reports
Task 1:
Use the powerpoint (non-chronological reports) to explore the features of a non-chronological report. Read the example of the report about polar bears to see how information is organised into paragraphs. (The version with Miss Maskell's audio talks has additional explantaions)
Then use the planning grid on the last slide to begin to plan your own non-chronological report about your foodimal.
(Can you magpie ideas for your paragraphs from the polar bear text?)
Task 2:
Look at the animal fact-file powerpoint. Can you magpie any scientific words to use in your non-chronological report? Add these to your plan.

In this lesson, we will learn about the circulatory system. We will also focus on the contents of blood, the types of blood vessels, and how the heart works.
