What a wonderful day Den Day was this year. Year 1 joined Whitebeam, while Year 3 became Oak children for the day.
During the morning we watched videos about Save the Children and Den Day to learn about what the money we raise will be used for. Soon we were planning our own dens, thinking about how we could make them sturdy and waterproof, and making bunting and signs to decorate them. Time was spent also decorating fairy cakes to eat in the afternoon.
Once outside, we found lots of bits and pieces to actually get building with. There were tarpaulins, tubes, wood and sticks, plastic sheeting and cardboard. Some brilliant creations were erected before we stopped for the cakes and drinks.
Den Day
On Den Day we went outside and built dens. Year 1 came in and we made designs of our dens. My group was Joe, Sammy, Rory and me. Next we made bunting. We had bunting but it was plain so we cut them out and coloured them. I did a dragon on one and an England flag on another because the FIFA World Cup was nearly out and playing.
We went out to build our dens and ours was really good!
