Spellings:
Use the powerpoint to practise when to use the ‘ous’ and ‘ious’ suffixes. Refer to slide 6 of the powerpoint to find words with these suffixes.
Read for pleasure: Spend 10-15 minutes (or more if you want) reading something for pleasure. It could be a story, poem, play, information text, comic, graphic novel or online text/kindle/e-reader. You could also read to a younger or older sibling.
English: Reading
Year 5: Following from their work yesterday, a short text extract and questions to consolidate their understanding of descriptive devices. (Year 5 Reading R5b pupil questions) Recognises a range of descriptive devices including figurative language.
Year 6: A short text extract and questions to consolidate their learning from yesterday. (Year 6 Reading R5c pupil questions) Can use clues from action, dialogue and description to interpret meaning.

Art: Pablo Picasso
Learn about the famous and influential artist Pablo Picasso by going through the powerpoint. Then it’s time to get creative!!! Can try to create your own cubist portrait in the style of Picasso? You can use the changing faces sheet below (Picasso Changing faces word document) to help generate the shapes for your cubist face. Don’t forget, Picasso used bright, bold colours, so you will need to as well. I can’t wait to see some of your portraits!
