Problem solving
Subtraction
Today we are solving subtraction problems. We can use a number line to subtract in two different ways:
- by counting back from the largest number to the smallest number or
- by counting on from the smallest number to the largest ,which is known as finding the difference
Another way to solve subtraction problems , which I know a few of you have been trying, is by using column subtraction.
Examples of finding the difference on a number line can be found on the 'Find the Difference ' ppt below.
